Yuma Takeuchi, the first Japanese trumpeter to digitally release Afro Cuban jazz album -“Impulso”

First Japanese trumpeter! Afro cuban jazz album!! Starting from his professional career, he has collaborated with various domestic and international artists, including Cuban trumpeter Luis Valle, who became his mentor, Yumuri Valle, and Mayito Rivera, from his encounter with Cuban music to the present day.

After traveling to Cuba twice, he completed his first solo album filled with his own Sabor sound.Throughout the album, Cuban rhythms such as Guaracha, Cha cha cha, Danzon, Guajira, Bolero, Timba, Guaguanco, Caballo, etc. are used, and each song has a different arrangement.

M-1 to M-8 are all original works, and among them, M-3 and M-4 are the effective trumpet play and chorus that he cultivated through his experience with ROTH BART BARON, which he regularly supports.

The sound is different from other songs. M-9 created a Cuban arrangement of “Oharabushi,” a folk song from his hometown of Kagoshima, and he himself provided vocals and provided the lyrics in Spanish and Japanese.

Participating members include Kei Hatakeyama (Pf), Ryuta Okamoto (Dr), and Daikai Koyama (Timbales), the next-generation rhythm section, as well as Satoshi Kaseda, who is familiar with Cuba and has played with him in the Son band Septeto Oriente.

Conga, Kenta Okamoto (Dr), who also plays with the Salsa band I.y.a, Takuya Arakawa (Conga), Shinsuke Tsujino and Yuki Oka, who are close friends on the saxophone, and his own teacher Luis valle (Trumpet,Chorus). and members from a wide range of generations who decorate Japan’s Latin music scene. It became a Japanese Afro Cuban jazz album unlike any other in the past.

The title Impulso means propulsion, force, or impulse in Spanish. These are songs that we were able to create because we were self-restraint during the coronavirus pandemic, and these are songs that symbolize our desire to move forward in the future after the coronavirus pandemic. I hope to be able to bring a new breeze to Japan’s Latin and music industries in the future.

I would be happy if people all over the world, young and old, of all generations, listened to it and felt positive.
