With the firm purpose of making his way in Colombian popular music, singer and songwriter Yeray presents “XPerro,” his debut promotional single—a song born from vulnerability that raises a question many listeners may relate to: Does bad luck in love really exist, or are the decisions we made in the past eventually coming back to us?
Far from being a traditional heartbreak song, “XPerro” is a sincere confession about facing the consequences of past mistakes. Inspired by a personal disappointment in love, Yeray wrote the song after realizing that a new opportunity for love had not ended because of bad luck, but as a reflection of decisions he had made some time ago.

“This song hurt me to write because it is my own truth, laying myself bare before the world. I came home tired of seeing people leave me, and I understood that it wasn’t bad luck—it was my past catching up with me. ‘XPerro’ is about accepting that sometimes love doesn’t stay with you because you closed that door yourself a long time ago,” says Yeray.
Although “XPerro” represents his official debut in the music industry, Yeray’s musical journey began at a very young age. Born in Medellín, Colombia, he always dreamed of dedicating himself to singing, but chose to prepare himself before making the professional leap.
For years, he studied, developed his voice, wrote songs, and performed on different stages, gaining experience and confidence while building his own identity within Colombian popular music.
Performances at bars, private events, and different musical venues allowed him to connect with audiences and discover the sound with which he now hopes to make his mark in Colombia.
