Sheila E. ft. Gloria Estefan & Mimi Succar – BEMBA COLORÁ

Sheila E. is joined by some Latin icons in tributing Celia Cruz. The legendary drummer and singer has shared a reinterpretation of Cruz’s “Bemba Colora”.

The music video shows Sheila playing the drums and the congas as she’s joined by Estefan and Succar, with all of them performing different verses and providing their own interpretations of the song. Sheila adds a Rumba Conga and a drum solo that provide a new edge to “Bemba Colora.”

Among great performers together to pay homage to Celia Cruz with one of her most famous hits, Bemba Colorá , the first version of which was published way back in 1966.

This musical project starts from the mind of the musician and producer Tony Succar, who first involved the percussionist Sheila E. , former Prince’s drummer and now returning to the sounds of her places of origin, then her mother Mimi Succar and one of the legends of Latin music, Gloria Estefan.

The video begins with Sheila playing dominoes with some of her elderly friends, who ask her to play something for them.

At this point the percussion begins and then the orchestra and the other two performers enter.
