Zayas’ career has been on the rise since he burst onto the scene almost four years ago with “La Cerveza,” a single that defined the identity of his musical collective, Los Mutantes, alongside legends like Eddie Montalvo, Eric Figueroa, and Nelson Jaime “Gazú.” Following the success of Imágenes de Humo in 2025—where the track “El Té” continues to dominate DJ charts and international radio airwaves—Zayas reaffirms his creative prowess with this new release.
Unlike his previous albums recorded in New York, Zayas has moved his base of operations to Puerto Rico to capture the island’s vibrant essence on this new album. “Linda Roque,” which he wrote himself, is a sample of the authentic and uncompromising style that will define the entire album.
For this piece, Zayas once again relied on the genius of maestro Pedro Bermúdez, who not only handled the arrangement, piano, mixing and mastering, but also brought together a selection of top-level musicians:
Choirs: Dárvel García, Víctor García and Joe González.
Percussion: Emanuel Navarro.
Bass: Odanis Velázquez Luiggi.
Brass: Jesús Alonso (trumpets), Eliut Cintrón (trombones) and Sammy Vélez (baritone sax).
“Linda Roque” is now available for the enjoyment of dancers and lovers of good music. This release promises to keep Richard Zayas at the forefront of the international salsa scene.
