Óscar D’León Reaffirms Aymée Nuviola’s Status as – “The Sonera of the World”

Miami, FL (August 28, 2025) – In a moment already considered historic for tropical music, salsa icon Óscar D’León publicly reaffirmed his admiration for Cuban singer Aymée Nuviola, granting her the title of “The Sonera of the World” during an exclusive interview conducted by journalist Ricardo Padilla for Salsoul 99.1 FM, as part of the first edition of the Ponce Salsa Fest, held on August 2 and 3 in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico.

This festival, organized by Salsoul 99.1 FM with the support of Mayor Marlese Sifre, brought together great exponents of the genre in an unprecedented celebration that reaffirms Ponce as the true “Cradle of Salsa.”
