This festival, organized by Salsoul 99.1 FM with the support of Mayor Marlese Sifre, brought together great exponents of the genre in an unprecedented celebration that reaffirms Ponce as the true “Cradle of Salsa.”
During an exclusive interview conducted by journalist Ricardo Padilla for Salsoul 99.1 FM, Óscar D’León firmly stated:
“I myself gave Aymée Nuviola that name. She has those qualities, and it’s important to respect them and, above all, highlight them.” He added: “Not many women have those qualities. Since Celia, there’s no one like her in her commitment to the genre.”
