Peruvian singer Luis Alfredo Usquiano presents his new recording, “La Mafia del Guaguancó,” a fresh interpretation of one of the recognized classics of the New York salsa repertoire.
The song was originally recorded in 1968 by Dominican trumpeter, pianist, and arranger Bobby Quesada for the album El Duro (The Strong One) – La Mafia del Guaguancó, featuring vocals by Luis “Tirano” Rodríguez.
Rather than simply reproducing the original arrangement, Luis Alfredo brings his own contemporary interpretation to the song while preserving its essential guaguancó character and traditional salsa roots.
