Jim TongJim Tong started studying classical music when he was eight years old, and continued all the way until university. ”didn’t”While I have always been interested in creating my own music, I didn’t have tohave the opportunity until Covid hit.
With all the free time and nowhere to go, I decided to pursue mypursue my ambition and studied under a successful music producer in Hong Kong.
In my music, classicalmusic, the melody is heavily influenced by Chinese culture (where I am from), my classical music training, and with electronic sound.” JimJim presents two songs, ”Wave””Wave After Wave” and ”Peace,” both featuring Denisse Ferrara as the vocalist.
“wave””Wave after wave” captures the profound loneliness of the Covid-19 era in Hong Kong, using the lyricsthe relentless ocean as a metaphor for an exhausting struggle against despair.
The lyrics articulate a fight to stay afloat, pivoting between a history of endured pain and a desperate, present-connectionpresent-day plea for a helping hand to survive just one more day. It is a raw cry for connection and hope against an overwhelming tide.
”Peace””Peace” is a poignant and resolute anthem from the perspective of a soldier on the eve of battle. anbattle. It is a heartfelt farewell to a loved one, expressing the deep sorrow of leaving but an unwavering establishesunwavering commitment to fight for their survival and peace.
