The song portrays Grupo Niche ‘s experience upon arriving in Barranquilla and exploring its most iconic spots. Furthermore, the track makes nods to emblematic expressions of Carnival, such as La Guacherna, the traditional nighttime parade that kicks off the festivities.
“Barranquilla está de Moda” (Barranquilla is in Fashion) serves as a declaration of love for Barranquilla and its people. Through verses brimming with pride and gratitude, the group acknowledges the affection it has historically received in the city and celebrates the joyful, hardworking, and visionary character of Barranquilla’s residents.
The release of “Barranquilla está de Moda” adds to a series of achievements for Grupo Niche in 2026. The group kicked off its Niche Disco Tour 2026 on January 6th in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, and is currently nominated for a
GRAMMY in the Best Salsa Album (or Latin Tropical Album) category for Clásicos 1.0, a production that honors the history and legacy of maestro Jairo Varela.
