
Fausto Cuevas III is an accomplished percussionist and musician whose career has taken him from Latin music and Afro-Cuban rhythms to performances and recordings with internationally recognized artists.
Born in Brownsville, Texas, and based in Los Angeles, Cuevas began playing drums at an early age and later studied at Berklee College of Music. Throughout his career, he has worked with artists including Celia Cruz, Julio Iglesias, Cheo Feliciano, Tito Nieves, Néstor Torres, Al Jarreau, Roy Hargrove, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Stevie Wonder.
“Chacha Chichi Miyan” highlights Cuevas’ passion for Afro-Cuban percussion and rhythm. The composition and arrangement are by Venezuelan pianist and composer Gonzalo Grau, with vocals by Costa Rican singer Manolo Mairena.
Released as a single in 2024, “Chacha Chichi Miyan” brings together powerful percussion, Afro-Cuban influences, and a vibrant rhythmic character that makes it a natural addition to the Aji Picante Radio musical collection.

Fausto Cuevas III is an accomplished percussionist, drummer, bandleader, and educator with a career spanning Latin music, jazz, pop, and international music.
Originally from Brownsville, Texas, and based in Los Angeles, Cuevas developed his passion for percussion at an early age and went on to study at Berklee College of Music. Over the years, he has performed and recorded with an impressive range of artists, including Celia Cruz, Julio Iglesias, Cheo Feliciano, Tito Nieves, Néstor Torres, Al Jarreau, Roy Hargrove, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Stevie Wonder.
His musical work also includes La Clave Secreta and his own projects, including Fausto Cuevas III y La Moderna and the Urban Jazz Collective. His approach to percussion draws from Afro-Cuban traditions, Latin rhythms, jazz, and contemporary music.
Known for his versatility and deep knowledge of percussion, Fausto Cuevas III continues to bring powerful rhythmic energy and Latin musical traditions to audiences around the world.
