Dominican singer José Alberto El Canario celebrates five decades of artistic career with the album “Big Swing”, a first-class selection in which he demonstrates versatility, roots and authentic communication with the dancer.

“It’s been fifty years in music, and I hope it’s many more. I want to tell you that there is a Canary Island here for a while,” said the artist.

The salsa singer, one of the essential voices of Latin music, pays tribute to the great orchestras of the 50s with works such as “No quiero piedras en mi camino”, by Enrique Bonne; “Tiemblas”, by Tite Curet; “Negro bonito”, by Silvestre Méndez; “Niña y señora”, by Tito Puente, or “Negro ñañamboro”, by Mariano Mercerón, among others.

“We have made a selection with an ambitious sound concept, which demonstrates the vitality of our music. I want everyone to enjoy these songs as I have enjoyed them, in the company of great musicians, producers and arrangers,” added El Canario.

“Big Swing”, produced by the Los Canarios label and distributed by La Oreja Media Group, is now available on all digital platforms.

José Alberto El Canario is the artist most awarded the Latin Grammy for Best Traditional Tropical Album (three). The most recent, last November, with the bolero album “Rodando por el mundo”.
