In the new record material of the Conexión Salsa Live Band entitled Felicidad, the six musicians from Cuba, Colombia and Germany around the singer Mayelis Guyat (including The Voice of Germany) light a real firework of salsa, they are Cuban, bolero and cha cha cha. The band skillfully blends soulful classics from the Cuban and international repertoire, as well as exciting original compositions with a lot of positive energy. Modern, urban and always danceable: Caribbean sensation and explosive salsa straight from the heart of Berlin.
The first single “De Donde Es El Son” (released: June 19, 2020) is a fast-paced Son Cubano and speaks to the eternal dispute over the invention of “Son”, the Cuban style that is the basis of salsa music. “Where does the Son come from?” That is the question that Havanans from the capital and the inhabitants of the eastern provinces of Cuba (Oriente) have always competed for. The discussions about where the Son is best danced are just as exciting.
A special guest on FELICIDAD is Cuban legend of rumba and folklore Juan “Chan” Campos Cárdenas (*1939). The singer from Havana is co-founder of the group Yoruba Andabo and won the Latin Grammy Award with this formation.
