Aymée Nuviola to Pay Tribute to Celia Cruz at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s prestigious Rose Theater

Miami, FL. (October 13, 2025). – Grammy and Latin Grammy winner, Aymée Nuviola, will join an all-star cast of musicians and vocalists to celebrate the centenary of the immortal “Queen of Salsa,” Celia Cruz (1925-2003).

The event, titled “Celia Cruz: A Centennial Celebration!,” will take place at the prestigious Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center on October 17 and 18, 2025, and will be a vibrant tribute to the career and spirit of the iconic Celia Cruz.
Aymée Nuviola, known as “La Sonera del Mundo” and globally recognized for her masterful portrayal of Celia Cruz in the acclaimed eponymous television series, is a natural choice for this moving tribute. Her deep connection to the legacy of Celia Cruz promises to imbue the celebration with unparalleled authenticity and passion.

The celebration will be directed by the maestro of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Carlos Henríquez, who had the privilege of playing and recording with Celia Cruz early in his career. Consequently, he will lead an all-star ensemble, composed of Latin Jazz and salsa stars from New York and Miami, including Bobby Allende, Marcos Lopez, Carlos Padron (percussion), and Osmany Paredes (piano), among others.
Aymée Nuviola will lead the stage as vocalist alongside the distinguished Alain Pérez and Ariacne Trujillo Duran, reviving the timeless hits that defined Celia’s career, such as “Usted Abusó,” “Cúcala,” “Cao Cao Maní Picao,” and the iconic “La Vida es un Carnaval.”

“It is an immense honor to take the stage at Jazz at Lincoln Center to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Celia. She was not only an artist, she was a beacon of Cuban culture and a symbol of unyielding joy,” commented Nuviola. “To be able to sing her music, which I carry in my soul and which allowed me to honor her through acting, is a gift that I hope to share with the audience of New York.”
This event promises to be a night of explosive rhythms, Cuban passion, and the unmistakable energy that both artists, Celia Cruz and Aymée Nuviola, have shared with the world.
