Korinnya (Kоріння) is the 4th full-length album for Ukrainian-Canadian Artist Auresia and realizes her long-held dream of bringing her love for Reggae roots together with her Family roots.
Remaining true to her roots, this hardworking & uniquely talented singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer pays tribute to her Ukrainian heritage with Kоріння, a.k.a.
“Korinnya” (meaning “Roots” in Ukrainian) which features many traditional instruments played by some of the best musicians the country has to offer, including X-Factor and Eurovision semifinalist bandura player Marina Krut, drummer Denis Shvets (SunSay) and guitarist Roman Kucherenko (SunSay).
Recorded in Ukraine at Zvuko Tsek (Kyiv) and Shpytal Records with Lesik Omadada (Jamala), Havana, Cuba, Tulum, Mexico and Montreal, Canada, the production is as international as the music is on this album.
It unexpectedly and creatively intertwines Auresia’s love for traditional Ukrainian instruments, beautiful melodies with the deep, tropical heavy-roots grooves that have been the heart of her sound. Such a fusion of musical styles and cultures might not yet exist-until now!
Auresia has been a mainstay in the World Music circuit for the past 10 years. She is the 2014 winner of the Reggae Xclusive Award for Top Singer, was a nominee for Favorite World Artist at the Annual Independent Music Awards and four other awards at the Canadian Reggae Music Awards.
Her roots vibe of Caribbean, Soul, Latin and Pop flavors engages her audiences to the last beat. Following her fivetime nominated 3 full-length albums, she has toured Canada, South America, has recorded and performed in Jamaica, Mexico & Cuba, and USA.
