The album features nine songs popularized by Aventura and written by Romeo Santos. Under the direction of Pedro Jesús as producer and arranger, the repertoire is reinterpreted with a focus on contemporary salsa, incorporating elements of Cuban musical tradition and urban nuances associated with the Bronx sound.
“La Curita” is the starting point of the project. Although it wasn’t one of the group’s singles, the song highlights Anthony ‘Romeo’ Santos’s talent as a songwriter.
The song is performed by Ana Soto, an emerging flamenco-pop artist from Marbella, Spain. Some listeners may remember her from her participation in Romeo Santos’s Fórmula Vol. 3 tour, where she sang lead vocals on “El Pañuelo.” In this new version of “La Curita,” Soto delivers a performance that blends flamenco nuances with an innate salsa sensibility.
The recording features Diego Camacho on percussion, Dante Vargas on trumpet, Alex Zapata on trombone, Carlos Martín Carle on electric guitar and Giovanni Machuca on piano and bass, with arrangements by Pedro Jesús.
Aventura en Tumbao is scheduled for release on May 29, 2026 and will feature new voices from Spain and Latin America.
