Harold López‑Nussa – Nueva Timba

The project blends Latin jazz with elements of Cuban timba, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and modern electronic textures.

The album represents a creative exploration of Cuban musical heritage and modern jazz, combining traditional sounds with contemporary production. Some pieces reinterpret classic Cuban works while others showcase López-Nussa’s original compositions.

A key example is “Bonito y Sabroso,” originally recorded by Cuban legend Benny Moré, which López-Nussa transforms with modern grooves and electronic elements.

The album Nueva Timba was recorded partly live at the famous Paris jazz club Le Duc des Lombards and later refined in the studio, creating a hybrid live-studio sound.
